Dopo l’uscita di “The Symphony Of David Brooks” nel 2007 ormai, oggi 3 marzo 2009 esce, per la VP Records, il seguito di quel disco: “Mr. Brooks – A Better Tomorrow”.Questo disco è una raccolta di pezzi che Mavado ha cantato sui riddims più famosi.
L’artista è stato molto attivo nella scena Dancehall in questi due anni, ha fatto uscire una canzone quasi su ogni riddim prodotto, quindi la VP ha semplicemente raccolto i pezzi, già rodati nelle Dancehall, e li ha messi in “Mr. Brooks – A Better Tomorrow”. Troviamo solo due nuove tunes: “Every Situation” e “Jailhouse” nella quale dice “Ghetto youths, two thousand and nine, put down the war and the crime [...] put down the guns and the crime [...] ”.
Questo disco è consigliato agli amanti della Dancehall Music, le tunes più belle sono: “On The Rock”, “So Blessed”, “So Special”, sul riddim Unfinished Business, che ha vinto agli E.M.E. Awards come miglior riddim Dancehall 2008, “Gangster Don’t Play” sul The Beast riddim della TJ Records, “Chiney K” con un’intro live, la bellissima “Don’t Worry” che toccava la vetta delle classifiche circa un’anno fa, “Money Changer” sul The Warning riddim, con censura della VP, “Money” sul Advocate riddim e “Ina Di Car Back” sul Work Out, Big Ship Records, infine una delle mie preferite, “Overcome”.
Sempre belli gli skit all’interno del disco. Un buon lavoro per Mavado. Buon Ascolto!
